I was scared out of travelling anywhere this weekend due to 60% chance of thunderstorms in just about every direction that I could head. So, I decided to do a little bit of local biking and hiking this weekend. As it turns out, the weather was beautiful for pretty much all of the weekend except for an hour or so Saturday afternoon. Sunday morning I decided to take advantage of the good weather and hiked up to Stuart Falls just above Sundance.

Better Late than Never
I've been meaning to ride out to Mesa Verde National Park for about 2 months now, but weather, work, or visiting family members have prevented me. This weekend I finally ran out of excuses. Saturday morning I embarked on the 300 mile journey amidst blue skies and plenty of sunshine. It was a beautiful ride that was marred only by a strong headwind that kept me clenching the handle bars. Fortunately, this same headwind turned to a tailwind on the return trip making the ride even more pleasant. Here are some pictures that I took in the park:
